Penns Valley
Pedals & Pints

We’re a not-so-serious (growing) group of cyclists who meet up Thursday evenings @ 6pm from May to September to bike, enjoy the beauty of Penns Valley, hang with friends (old and new), dine under the Millheim Fire Co. pavilion with Food Trucks, and cheers with Elk Creek beer to another great ride. All the while, raising money to support our community. We welcome on average 90-100 people each week. We hope you’re one of them!

Safety Guidlines and Tips
We’re glad to see so many cyclists in our community joining us each week. But with numbers of 80-100+, comes safety concerns. We’ve seen some unsafe riding and people making sketchy moves – of their own free will or because of someone else’s negligence. We get it – we’ve all made mistakes. Click below to view a complete list of safety tips to be the best rider you can be at PVPP. But at the very least…
STAY IN YOUR LANE – especially cresting of hills.
LEAVE ROOM for other riders and cars to pass safely.

Support Vehicle
The route is marked each week and “Bike Riders Ahead” signs are usually placed along the road. A support vehicle drives ahead ready to help bikers with flats, mechanical issues and water bottle refills, and offers a ride to anyone needing a life line.
We Ride in Penns Valley
Central Pennsylvanian’s love cycling in Penns Valley. And for good reason. As you pedal across the rolling hills – past Amish farms, through tunnels of outstretched tree branches, and beside babbling creeks – you’ll find the beauty makes even the toughest hill more enjoyable and rewarding.
Penns Valley Pedals and Pints takes you on a different journey each week. Rides always start at 6pm behind the Millheim Fire Department with routes winding through Spring Mills, Coburn, Woodward, Rebersburg, Smulton and/or Madisonburg, avoiding lengthy stretches on Route 45 as much as possible. Usually, a shortened route is marked for those looking for a more leisurely ride.
After each ride returns to Millheim, we meet up again under the Millheim Fire Co. pavilion, order from the weekly Food Truck, clank glasses of Elk Creek beer and enjoy time with friends.

Raising Money for Charity
Penns Valley Pedals and Pints is a non-profit. Volunteered planning and support for the rides takes coordination with minimal costs for supplies. So, there is currently a $3 fee per ride and ALL proceeds support local charities that are evaluated each year.
On occassion, supporting shops have donated gift cards and gear that we raffle off before the 6pm start at various rides throughout the summer.
To date, we’ve raised $19,000 that has been distributed to charity. Find out more on our About page.
