P.V. Pedals Ride, Thursday 6/10/2021
Let’s take a ride!
This Thursday at 6:00pm, Pedals and Pints will ride East.
We begin with a 3 mile ride along RT 45 – please bring a tail light if you have one. Enjoy the scenery as you pass Amish farms along Bower Hollow Rd. Things may start to look familiar (if you joined us for our first ride this year) as we turn left onto Pine Creek and left again onto Quarry Rd – following it in the opposite direction – to Apple Butter Road. We’ll ride Middle Road to Woodward proper before heading back to Millheim along Pine Creek Rd.
Once again there is a chance of rain, check out the map just in case I can’t mark the route.

- As mentioned, the first 3 miles are along Route 45. Please ride single file along the berm and pass with caution.
- Bring a tail light if you have one.
- If uncomfortable riding route 45, go straight through the light and taking a left onto Pine Creek Rd. (before reaching Coburn) and fall into the ride route about 2 miles from there.
- As always, stay in your lane, especially on crests of hills.
There is a chance of rain. Note that we do not cancel for rain. We’ll make the decision Thursday evening at 6:00pm if it becomes too dangerous to ride.
See you Thursday!
UPDATE TO ROUTE!
Before I show you the route this week I want to take a minute to share something with the club. I get scared at the start of every weekly PV Pedals + Pints club ride. Yes, scared because I fear someone is going to get hurt…or worse.
This week we are riding one of our favorite routes, but for a different reason. Thursday we are “Pedaling for a Purpose” – with the purpose being the Dan Stearns Foundation. Please read the article to learn about how much more there was to Dan than just one of our weekly riders.
We’re riding to Madisonburg this week in Brush Valley. The route is rightfully named, the Brush Valley Reverse. This route takes us through the Millheim Narrows. I’ll once again try and arrange with Ed from the Millheim Fire Company to follow us through the Narrows for a enjoyable start to the ride. We are on our own for the return ride. Feel free to alter the route if riding in the Narrows makes you uncomfortable.
