4/21/24 – Whipple Dam Race

Join us for the Whipple Dam gravel race – the first of four Seasons of Rothrock races.

Wanna watch? Join us at the Support Station @ noon for a fun little pre-season lunch party to cheer on the riders and watch a great race. They come by twice and really appreciate the bell ringing and good vibes. No work involved! Let us know you are coming with an RSVP so we can give you directions and info on how best to arrive. Bring a chair, bell, flag or just your big voice and BYOF (Bring Your Own Food)…Elk Creek will not be on hand, unfortunately!

Please arrive by 12pm and plan to stay until 2-3pm when the last riders come through as to not get in the way of the racers. 

Note: No alcohol in State Parks. So, though we can’t stop you, please conceal it so Seasons of Rothrock doesn’t get fined for it.

DIRECTIONS:
From State College headed toward Readsville on 322…near the bottom of the mountain before you get to the reservoir, you can turn right onto Stone Creek Road.  Stay on Stone Creek the entire way. After you pass the older Alan Seegar picnic areas, we’ll be at the new Alan Seegar picnic area on the right just before you get to Bear Meadows Rd.

You can also come from Tussey via Bear Meadows Rd, but that’s also the race route. If you come that way, try to arrive by 11:45 to stay off the race route. At the bottom of Bear Meadows Rd, turn left onto Stone Creek Rd and the Alan Seeger picnic area is immediately on your left.
