5/16/24 – Bower Up!

Hi Everyone!

We’re ready to redeem ourselves with this next ride, Bower Up, that takes you through Aaronsburg and parts of Woodward. Weather looks beautiful! Please RSVP so we know how many to expect!

Park: in the field behind the Millheim Fire Company.
Bring: any bike (yes, ebikes welcome!), a helmet, a water bottle, and a great attitude!
Pay: a requested donation per ride during registration (from 5:15p-6p). Pay via cash ($3/rider) or CC ($3.25/rider). We can additional donations either way, as well.

We leave PROMPTLY at 6pm.

Everyone needs to sign a waiver (once a year) and register with us each week. Download, print and sign the waiver.

We’d like to remind everyone of a few key safety tips…

  • Stay in your lane, especially when cresting hills.
  • On 45 stay to the right of the white line.
  • Single file when cars are passing.
  • Make room for passing riders.
  • Be aware of others – look before you pass for other riders and cars.
  • Have an issue on your ride? Call our Support Truck to come pick you up. Save Roy’s number in your phone: 814-360-0243

We’ll celebrate after the ride with Elk Creek Cafe! Beer will be available for purchase in the Elk Creekside tent near the parking area. You can PRE-ORDER FOOD (anytime Thursday!) from the Limited Take-out Menu via the Elk Creek Website for pick-up after your ride (you’ll be done between 7:00pm-7:45pm). Or, you’re welcome to head inside Elk Creek for a sit-down meal!

RSVP + Download the Bower Up Route:
This ride takes us through Aaronsburg and through beautiful parts of Woodward. It includes a few short sections along route 45 where the berm of the road is wide. PLEASE ride single file along Route 45 to allow for passing riders, and be extra cautious when crossing Route 45.

For those that have not ridden with us, these rides are at your own pace. We mark the course, but it’s smart to download the route through the Happy Valley Ride with GPS link provided in case rain washes our markings away. Call Roy/the Support Truck number if you are lost or can’t finish your ride for ANY reason. 814-360-0243
