6/20/24 – Ice Cream Ride to Olde Village Mercantile

6/20/24 – Ice Cream Ride to Olde Village Mercantile

Hey All!

We’re back this week with an Ice Cream Ride to Olde Village Mercantile, also our sponsor highlight of the week! Should be a fun stop.

It’s going to be HOT! So check out our alternate routes below.

Safety Note: There’s a rut along the shoulder of the road (perfect width for a road tire!) as you approach the Mercantile’s parking lot. We’ll mark it, but be on the lookout and ride across it, not into it.

Olde Village Mercantile has Meyer’s Dairy ice cream by the scoop (bowl or cone + sprinkles) or in a shake! Bubble Tea and Refreshers. The shop has coolers full of yummy specialty beverages, gourmet goods, CANDY, and lots of other home, personal and gift goods. Open Wednesday-Sun, they also have fresh made Boars Head subs and salads. They’re also planning community movie nights outside and getting the food truck up and running! So seems to be a great place to stop on an off PVPP day, too! Follow on Facebook.

  • Park: Behind the Millheim Fire Co. in the grass.
  • Bring: A bike (any will do!), helmet, and water bottle; $3 donation requested (cash or credit accepted)
  • Waiver: You must sign a waiver once each year. Download/Print here.
  • Ride Smart! Single file as cars approach/pass, leave room for other riders to pass, stay to the right cresting hills and around curves. BE CAREFUL CROSSING RT45!

Looking forward to seeing you all again this week!

Aaronsburg Ice Cream Route

Download the Route:

Scenario 1 – You know it’s too hot to ride the entire route: Skip the first loop (Coburn to Long Lane and Paradise) and turn left onto Pine Creek and ride only the second loop.

Scenario 2 – You underestimated the heat and rode the first loop…but still want ice cream! Don’t turn right onto Pine Creek Rd. Ride back towards Millheim and turn right onto Tattletown Rd. and right onto 45. The Mercantile will be at top of the hill on the left.

For those that have not ridden with us, these rides are at your own pace. We mark the course, but it’s smart to download the route through the Happy Valley Ride with GPS link provided in case rain washes our markings away. Call Roy/the Support Truck number if you are lost or can’t finish your ride for ANY reason. 814-360-0243
