Hey All!

We’re expecting another beautiful night for this Thursday’s ride! Join us for one of our more challenging rides as we journey through some of the best parts of Spring Mills. This one skirts close to Riddles…mentioning in case some of you have a hankering and can handle ice cream in the middle of a rolling route!

Penns Valley is still having roadwork done. Our route takes us on Penns Creek Road which was tar and chipped last week. It’s been traveled pretty well but watch for excess gravel along the edges of the road.

If you cycle out to our rides, or cycle in Penns Valley, note the following…

1. Fresh Oil + Chip on Rt 192 (Linden Hall to Centre Hall to Millheim Narrows)
2. Fresh Oil + Chip on Rt 445 (Madisonburg Mtn.)
3. Pipe Replacement & Cleaning – Pine Creek Rd. Mon-Fri. Flaggers out. Gravely patches here and there.

Reminders:

Park: Behind the Millheim Fire Co. in the grass.
Bring: A bike (any will do, even e-bikes!), helmet, and water bottle; $3 donation requested (cash or credit accepted)
Waiver: You must sign a waiver once each year. Download ahead/Print here.
Ride Smart! Single file as cars approach/pass, leave room for other riders to pass, stay to the right cresting hills and around curves. BE CAREFUL CROSSING RT45!

We’ll cheers with beers Elk Creekside afterwards. Food will be available from the trailer. You are also welcome to pre-order from the main menu for pickup inside at the bar after the ride (approximately 7:30pm depending on your speed).

Green Grove Route

Riddle’s Ice Cream Stop: After turning onto Rt 45 from Heckman Cemetery, pass the turn onto Green Grove and pass Penns Valley Schools. Riddles will be on your right. Rejoin the route afterwards or head back to Heckman Cemetery Rd to take the shortcut.

Shortcut: At the end of Orndorf, instead of turning right onto Heckman Cemetery Rd, turn left onto Immel Rd. At the end of the road (bottom of long downhill), take a right then quick left onto Penns Creek Rd to rejoin the route. (14.2 miles)

For those that have not ridden with us, these rides are at your own pace. We mark the course, but it’s smart to download the route through the Happy Valley Ride with GPS link provided in case rain washes our markings away.
