7/3/25 – Red, White and Blue Ice Cream Ride + Picnic

7/3/25 – Red, White and Blue Ice Cream Ride + Picnic

Hi Everyone!

Since we don’t have a food truck scheduled for July 3rd, we’re taking matters into our own hands and throwing a Red, White & Blue Party — complete with an Ice Cream Ride and a festive post-ride picnic for all our riders!

We’re letting you know now so that you and we can start planning!

The Ride

We’ll roll through the Narrows (with Millheim Fireman’s escort – THANK YOU!) for a Smulton-Rebersburg-Madisonburg route (we’ll post the link soon), making a special stop at the new Amish Ice Cream Barn in Madisonburg.

Our Unofficial Red, White & Blue Parade

Get in the July 4th spirit! Rock your favorite red, white, and/or blue gear, decorate your bike, or just throw on some patriotic shades. It’s not required, but let’s make it fun for us and everyone we pass! (Please, no political messages.)

The Ice Cream Barn

The Amish stand offers soft serve cones, milkshakes, snowstorms, sundaes, floats, and even soft pretzels in different flavors. They accept cash and credit cards (with a 3% card fee).

Post-Ride Picnic

When we’re back, we’ll fire up the grill with hot dogs (unPAved rider favorite Sam’s Club beef franks, plus a few veggie dogs), with pasta salad, chips and dessert. Donations welcome. Help us plan by kindly RSVPing!

The Route

Brush Valley Ice Cream Ride (19.7 miles) – VIEW/DOWNLOAD

The Millheim Firemen will follow us through The Narrows. At the end of Shaffertown Rd, turn right and ride a few 100ft to THE ICE CREAM BARN.

Shortcut Option 1: Cut off the loop in Rebersburg. Turn around when you get to town and head back toward Smulton (16.8 miles)

Shortcut Option 2: Head straight for icecream! Turn onto Smulton Rd with the group, but then turn left at the top of the hill onto Old Pike Rd. Follow the remainder of the route from there. (11.2 miles)
