Thursday’s Ice Cream Ride!

Hey All!

It’s another ice cream ride! And this time they promise to have Mint Chocolate Chip! We’ll pass The Village Mercantile in Aaronsburg on our way out, weave through parts of Woodward, and return to The Mercantile for an ice cream stop on the way back.

  1. Please do not take over an entire lane or road. With our narrow, windy roads, it creates dangerous situations. If there isn’t room to pass within your lane, please wait!
  2. Ride to the right. PLEASE stay in the shoulder along route 45. Always stay to the right even when riding 2-wide.
  3. Do not pass on crests of hills.  If you can’t see what’s coming, the car coming at you at 35mph can’t see you either.
  4. Use verbal cues – “On the left” as you pass, “Car back” when a car is approaching from behind, and “Car up” when a car is approaching head on.

Park: Behind the Millheim Fire Co. in the grass.
Bring: A bike (any will do, even e-bikes!), helmet, and water bottle; $3 donation requested (cash or credit accepted) – proceeds benefit local charities (Millheim Pool, Millheim Fire Company, Penns Valley Library, Hope Fund, PV EMS, PVCA, etc.).
Waiver: You must sign a waiver once each year. Download ahead/Print here.

We’ll cheers with beers Elk Creekside afterwards. Food will be available from the trailer. You are also welcome to pre-order from the main menu for pickup inside at the bar after the ride (approximately 7:30pm depending on your speed).

Thanks and see you Thursday!

Aaronsburg Ice Cream Ride 2 – Route

Route: Download the 18.4 Mile Route

There’s no planned short cut for this one. If you’re not comfortable with the route, you can choose another…maybe a ride to Woodward post office and back (Penn St to Pine Creek) and rejoining the route at Broad St to get ice cream on the way back. Or ride out to Coburn along Penns Creek Rd for a while and turn around and head up Tattletown for ice cream.

Aaronsburg Ice Cream Ride 2

For those that have not ridden with us, these rides are at your own pace. We mark the course, but it’s smart to download the route through the Happy Valley Ride with GPS link provided in case rain washes our markings away. Call Roy/the Support Truck number if you are lost or can’t finish your ride for ANY reason. 814-360-0243
