9/27/25 – End of Year Ride (Oktoberfest)
We’re changing things up for our end of year ride! We’re holding the ride on the same day as Elk Creek Cafe’s Oktoberfest. Why? Because it’s a fundraiser – the proceeds from Oktoberfest go to the Millheim Fire Company. YES! Those wonderful volunteers that do so much for us and the Penns Valley community! When it comes to PVPP specifically, they graciously allow us to use their grounds and brand new pavilion for our weekly rides, and they follow us through the Millheim Narrows to help with safety when our routes take us to Brush Valley. Let’s show them some love on this special ride day!
How your attendance/involvement helps.
- Attend Oktoberfest. Your $20 entrance fee helps fill their bucket! Plus, you get a signature mug + beer token…volunteer and get these for FREE!
- Add a donation of any amount to the fireman’s boot!
- Local? Sign up to help with set-up on Friday night. They could use the extra hands VOLUNTEER
- VOLUNTEER for a Saturday shift after our ride – get free entry + mug + beer + food!
- VOLUNTEER to tear down after the event…again, free stuff is on the table!
- Like to cook? The week of, they can use helpers to prep for Oktoberfest. VOLUNTEER!

Who is Invited?
Unlike in years past where this was open only to those who rode with us during the summer, this ride is open to everyone!
Bringing Spouses/Family
You have choices. If a spouse is planning to hang around while you ride, encourage them to explore the volunteer options for Saturday. Alternatively, they can head over to the Meandering Mallard Coffee Shop or take a walk along the creek. Families with youngsters can head over to the Millheim Pool area, by the borough building, or behind St. John’s Church to play on the jungle gyms. We ask that if not volunteering, they stay out of the way and let Elk Creek do their thing to get things ready!
Parking Note
Please use the second entrance to the field. Instead of turning right immediately after passing the Millheim Fire Station, pass the usual entrance and take the next right (by the church) to enter the grassy parking area. We’ll park along the back edge of the grounds and start our ride near the creek. This will keep us out of Elk Creek’s way as they prepare for Oktoberfest.
Route and Other Details
NO $3 DONATION THIS WEEK – Attendance to Oktoberfest is $20 and in exchange you’ll receive a signature drinking mug for the day and a beer token. Remember, proceeds go directly to the Fire Co.
Saturday’s Route:
2025 End of Year Ride (31 miles): DOWNLOAD ROUTE
Shortcut 1 (19.8 miles): Head back to Millheim after completing the Apple Butter Loop. Turn right onto Coburn Rd at the end of Pine Creek Rd.
Shortcut 2 (24.3 miles): Skip the Beaver Dam loop (we know you want to!) and turn right onto Paradise from Penns Creek Rd.
