9/7/23 – Bower Hollow to Paradise

9/7/23 – Bower Hollow to Paradise

Hi Everyone!

This week there is rain in the forecast so we’re going to keep it close to home with several bail outs if needed. This one also keeps it to 17.6 miles with several options to shorten your route with daylight dwindling.

Safety Tip: This route includes a few miles along Route 45. The berm is pretty wide along this section and we ask that you stay to the right of the white line as much as possible to be on the safe side.

End of Year Picnic

We’ve posted the End of Year Picnic Information and ask that you RSVP by September 22nd if planning to attend (non-riding spouses, significant others, and kiddos welcome) so that we can accurately prepare the meal. This event is catered by Bobbie’s Kitchen and served Creekside. Elk Creek will only be providing beer for this event.

Nittany Valley Half-Marathon

Our friends Monica and Bill, regular PVPP riders who volunteer quite a bit for local races, let us know that the upcoming Nittany Valley Half Marathon is looking for cyclists to help support runners during the race on December 3, 2023.  They need volunteers to serve as lead pack, mid-pack and back of the pack cyclists.  So, if you are interested in volunteering (and not already registered or volunteering for the Seasons of Rothrock Tussey Mountain MTB race), please contact Bill Mahoney,  And, if running is your thing, here’s where you can sign up to run the 39th Nittany Valley Half Marathon at

We look forward to seeing you Thursday! Elk Creekside will be offering food and beer on Thursday night.
