Thanking Our Supporters

We all know that the club’s biggest supporter and flag waver was Roy’s brother, Mark Rupert. He held the highest attendence rating (after Roy) and helped him mark the route each week up through the 2022 season.

Who was always there to welcome us with a smile when we check in? Mark! Who was our water boy? Mark! Who was there to literally pick us up when we’re down? Mark! Who kept Roy in check? His brother, Mark!

So first and foremost, for all the years you dedicated to the club, “Thank You, Mark!” You will forever be missed.

October 13th, 2024

unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley is a premier gravel event through forest hills and idyllic farm country of Central Pennsylvania. The event is held over a long weekend, with activities Friday through Monday for all levels of rider. Participants can choose from a wide range of distances from A Burly30 mile to UnPaved 50/90/120 or the Big Lick 200! Riders are only timed on the best parts of the courses, and tailor their adventure to the degree of challenge/fun they are ready to take on. For those wanting a little more casual-paced adventure, there is the SlumberPArty, which is a two-day ride with camping along the route. All gravel distances are treated to super-friendly aid stations serving hot dogs (that’s the PVPP manned station!), perogies, and other real food goodies. The day ends with the donePAved Party at the Miller Center, including raffle prizes, whoopie pies, and beer (both birch and real)!

For those not ready to take on the gravel roads, and steep Pennsylvania Hills, we offer our FunPAved guided rides on Saturday with several themes, and a Gravel Film Festival on Saturday evening. Registration is required for all events.

Happy Valley Adventure Bureau

Happy Valley Adventure Bureau

State College, PA – The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) is a nonprofit, membership-based organization committed to the fundamental principal that meetings and visitors can be more effectively attracted to our area through “coordinated group action” rather than independent action. The bureau’s mission is to develop, promote, and engage in travel related activities and coordinate visitor services designed to enhance the economic activity and quality of life within Centre County, Pennsylvania.

Through extra funding received from HVAB, we were able to purchase a trailer for Penns Valley Pedals and Pints for storing and transporting equipment, volunteering to help other local groups and races, and eventually expanding our reach into the community.
